Booking Terms and Conditions


Some Kind of Wonderful is a subsidiary of Fox & Feather Photography and is registered in Australia under Business Number (ABN)74245436740. ‘I’, ‘we’ ‘our’ or ‘us’ refers to Some Kind of Wonderful as a subsidiary of Fox & Feather Photography and ‘you’ or ‘your’ refers to you, the person reading this and purchasing a place at the retreat. ‘Workshop’ or ‘Camp’ refers to the event (the event you are purchasing a place for).

All Workshops you book with us are organised and sold subject to the following conditions:

Booking and Payment

Registrations are allocated and guaranteed only upon receipt of a deposit. A non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking. The remaining balance owing must be paid prior to 30 days before the camp commencement date. If we do not receive your payment by the due date, we reserve the right to treat the booking as cancelled and retain the deposit. If a booking is made 60 days or less prior to the departure date then the full amount is payable at the time of booking.

Cancellation

We reserve the right to alter or cancel any retreat at any time. For reasons including, but not limited to, too few participants, adverse weather, instructor illness, logistical problems such as strikes, wars, acts of God, or any other circumstances, which may make operation of the camp inadvisable. If any part of the camp has to be cancelled prior to the start date of the trip all fees are refunded in full. If for some reason the camp needs to be cancelled part way through the weekend there are no refunds.

We reserve the right to cancel any camp with inadequate enrolment 14 days beforehand. In the event that a camp has to be cancelled due to inadequate enrolment, all fees and deposits paid are refunded in full.

We are not responsible for any expenses or damages incurred by workshop members as a consequence of any cancellation, such as costs expended in preparing for the trip including non-refundable or penalty-carrying airline tickets, equipment, lost income, or any other trip-related losses or expenses.

Camp Fees

 

The workshop cost includes your accommodation, your meals, your tuition fee and camp activities. All other expenses are the responsibility of the participants. Not included are any airfares, airport taxes, pre and post retreat accommodation, entrance fees or items of a personal nature. Price also excludes any insurance coverage for trip cancellation or interruption, travel accident, travel delay, baggage delay or baggage theft, medical or hospitalization expenses (we recommend you obtain coverage for these items).

 

Insurance

 

You must have travel insurance, including coverage for personal health, emergency medical evacuation, emergency medical expenses, and trip cancellation, which would reimburse you for non-refundable airfare and trip cancellation fees. We cannot accept liability for insurance costs, loss of deposits, airline cancellations or delays or penalties incurred by the purchase of non-refundable airline tickets or other expenses incurred by participants in preparing for this workshop. We do not accept liability for any insurance costs if a workshop is cancelled.

 

Client Responsibility

 

We reserve the right to decline to accept or retain any member of any workshop should such person's actions impede the operation of the workshop or the rights or welfare or enjoyment of other members of the workshop, and it is agreed that no refunds will be given in such circumstances.

In the event of medical emergency and/or repatriation from a camp by whatever means, the responsibility of such costs will be borne by the client.

Every participant voluntarily assumes all risks and will hold us, the camp leader, any co-leader, assistants and speakers, harmless from any and all liability, actions, causes of action, claims, debts, and demands which arise in connection with the retreat. The terms hereof shall serve as a release and assumption of risk for your heirs, administrators, and executors, and for all members of my family, including any minors accompanying you.

Limitation of Liability

Payment of your booking fee represents your acceptance of all terms and conditions outlined anywhere on our website.

We aim to provide every participant with a safe, comfortable, educational and enjoyable experience during the camp. As there is always certain risks and dangers associated with photography, the outdoors and travel, we accept no responsibility or liability for injury, death, illness, accident, losses or additional expenses associated with the workshop participation. Nor do we accept responsibility for damage to equipment, property or digital data loss. Every participant must assess their own suitability, in terms of fitness and stamina, for the workshop that they join. Medical, equipment and travel insurance is your own responsibility. You must notify us of any medical condition that we should know about. We assume no liability regarding provision of medical care. All information is completely confidential.

We shall have no liability for any damages, losses, or expenses of whatever cause or nature, including those resulting directly or indirectly from acts of God, detention, annoyance, weather, quarantines, strikes, civil disturbance, theft or criminal activity of any kind, government regulations, etc., over which we have no control.

We shall have no responsibility for additional expenses due to unforeseen delays caused by weather, theft or criminal activity of any kind, political disputes, acts of terrorism, strikes, sickness, failure of flights or other transportation to arrive or depart on time, and other causes beyond our control. We are not responsible for additional accommodation not specified in the camp itineraries which may be required en route, prior to or following a trip, caused by airline scheduling or schedule changes, or by individual clients' travel arrangements or by other factors. We cannot assume any responsibility for loss or damage to baggage or personal property.

In no event shall we have any liability for incidental or consequential damages, however characterized.

We reserve the right to substitute hotels, venues and facilities, and to alter the itinerary when deemed necessary or advisable. The right is also reserved to cancel any photography camp prior to departure upon the refund of all payments received.

We are not responsible for additional expenses incurred by workshop members in preparing for the trip (i.e. non-refundable advance-purchase air tickets, equipment, etc.)

We reserve the right to take photographic or video records of any photography workshop, and may use any such records for promotional and/or commercial purposes.

 

Changes

 

All camp schedules and plans are tentative and made in the interest of exciting photographic opportunities. We reserve the right to change, at our exclusive discretion, schedules, plans and itineraries, depending on weather, health or safety considerations, or any other factors related or not related to the photographic opportunities, as we see them fit into the photography camp.

While significant efforts will be made to provide the camp in a truthful manner, all participants acknowledge that outdoor photography is subject to many variables including but not limited to environmental conditions that cannot be guaranteed.

 

Agreement

 

By submitting the booking form and/or registering for Some Kind of Wonderful you are agreeing to all the terms and conditions listed above. The person who submits the booking form does so on behalf of all the individuals included on it, so that all are bound by the booking terms and conditions.


CODE OF CONDUCT

We ask that all workshop attendees, organisers & speakers to help make Some Kind of Wonderful artist camp a place that is respectful and welcoming to everyone, regardless of gender, age, race, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, ethnicity, or religion. We ask this so that everyone can focus on the camp itself, and the great networking and community strength that happens when we all get together. Harassment of the camps participants in any way—in person or online - WILL NOT be tolerated.

 

CODE OF ETHICAL CONDUCT:
 

•    Be considerate and respectful to ALL participants including models

•    Refrain from demeaning, discriminatory or harassing behaviour and speech.

•    Be mindful of your surroundings and of your fellow participants. Alert Emily, Janine or Sam if you notice a dangerous situation or someone in need of help.

•    Some kind of Wonderful artist camp is a childfree event, however infants are welcome to accompany their mothers as situations may require, but we respectfully ask if your baby becomes unsettled or disruptive that you are to excuse yourself from sessions so they do not disturb other attendees.

•    During social events where alcohol is being served the venue will cease serving to anybody intoxicated.

•    Social Events are not for minors or non-attendees.

•    Mobile phones are to be switched to silent mode during all sessions and calls are to be taken outside.

•    And if you see someone by themselves “SAY HELLO” introduce yourself.

 

UNACCEPTABLE CONDUCT:

Unacceptable behaviour includes: intimidating, harassing, abusive, discriminatory, and derogatory or demeaning conduct by any attendees at the event and related event activities. All who participate in the conference deserve respectful treatment, regardless of the capacity in which they are attending. Harassment includes: offensive verbal comments related to gender, sexual orientation, race, religion or disability; inappropriate use of nudity and/or sexual images in public spaces (including presentation slides); deliberate intimidation, stalking or following; harassing photography or recording; sustained disruption of talks or other events; unwelcome physical contact or sexual attention.

Physical or verbal abuse, intimidation, threats, efforts to annoy others, harassment, stalking, pushing, shoving or use of any physical force whatsoever against any person, which in any way creates a disturbance that is disruptive or dangerous is also unacceptable.
 

If you witness or experience any conduct that breaches the code during the camp, please bring this to the attention of Emily, Janine or Sam.

 

CONSEQUENCES OF UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOR:|
 

Unacceptable behaviour will not be tolerated at the camp or related events and online forums.

Anyone asked to stop unacceptable behaviour is expected to comply immediately.

We expect all camp  participants to abide by this code of conduct at all camp venues and camp‐related social events as a condition of attendance or participation. Emily, Janine or Sam, at their discretion, may remove those who violate this Code from continued attendance or participation in some or all of the camp, without refund of any fees paid.
