The Some Kind Of Wonderful artist camp is about giving you the quality time you need to start working on being the person/artist you want to be. To make art, not sacrifices.
A safe place for tears & laughter as well as education.
A place of JOY.
Our mission is to share what we know about changing things up, working out what will keep your heart and bank balance happy, using social media to help your business, but more importantly is our desire to connect you with people and for once in your bloody life, allow you to stop and connect yourself with YOU.
This is about getting as far away from home life as possible and just shutting off for a few days to pamper yourself with insightful and inspiring content, great food (and maybe even some peaceful silence) - but most of all - some good, honest fun.
Sam, Janine & Emily bring years of photography and personal experiences (and mistakes!), all that you will relate to and together we will create a community, a safe place haven - just. For. You.
We are a diverse trio who will have little nuggets of wisdom and genuine compassion for you and your journey. This is not about us talking 'at you' for a whole weekend. Nuh-uh. This is going to be fun. Prepare to laugh, to cry and to change.
Life aint perfect for us, but we sure are pretty happy with the trajectory we are on and we want to share our experiences with you women...mothers….beautiful souls - after all, you are reading this for a reason.
And, because, YOLO (ah huhhhh we said YOLO).
Come hang out with us for 3 days….kid/partner/responsibility free…oh yeah…
Based by the beautiful Port Phillip Bay in Chelsea, VIC, I've been photographing babies and families for almost ten years.
From (very) humble beginnings, I thought success was to be shooting exactly like somebody else in a crazy-arsed massive studio, be friends with all the "it" people and go to every workshop known to man.
Thankfully I've come a long way from my soul-less journey of time past and now love what I do with every fibre of my being.
Give me a tiny room with a window and a family that have brought new life into this world and I'm a lady in heaven.
I'm not hip, I'm not cool and I'm not a lot of things. But I am 100% authentic and believe in what we do as photographers of humans.
I love seeing other people succeed.
I'm the 'glass half full' person who sees the good in everybody and any situation.
I believe every person who walks in my door is beautiful and give my everything to help make them feel that way too.
People have descibed my images as being more of a feeling than a photograph. That you can picture yourself in the moment with your own babes.
Photographer mates agree that my easy warm going personality is a reflection in my work, capturing passing moments, seeking the finer detail, looking beyond for the love that is real.

Photography began for me 5 years ago with the birth of my first son and as a reason not to return to my soul sucking 9-5.
Like most, I started with a goal to be the best there was, earning the most I could whilst receieving as much validation as I could get.
After 6 years, many life lessons, and a bucket of tears (good and bad) im now here.. In a place where im ok.Scrap that.. Im WONDERFUL. I love what I do, where im going and what I create.
Long gone is the girl who felt inferior in a sea of talented and successful photographers. Long gone are the hours trying to be someone who simply wasn’t me.
Today im here as a lover of love. I often say im the luckiest girl in the world. I witness all of lifes wonders. Not only in my work but in my home life.
I love to call things how they are. Im honest, im loud (ive been told my indoor voice sucks) but I love with every inch of my being.
My images are timeless… because love never goes out of fashion. My approach is honest, because the truth can hurt.. but it can also make you awaken to what you’ve been missing out on.
WHERE WE STAYING FAM?
We wanted to pick somewhere that made you feel peace, that was close to coffee (obvious reasons), that felt like home (if you lived in at 1890's historical home) and that was totally insta-worthy.
Carrington House in Daylesford ticked all those boxes for us.
We have 8 rooms available - 15 beds .. thats right you heard us.. you'll be bunking. 15 King singles with ensuites in each room. If you're booking with a friend simply let us know - we will try our best to room you up but try and push yourself and get out of that cosy little comfort zone. We want you to mingle.. to make new friends.. think of this is a school camp.. cept fancier.. and we won't confiscate your passion pop.
Hmmmm not much.. just
Daylesford's historic botanical gardens
The convent gallery
The mills vintage markets
Hepburn bathhouse and spa
And many hidden gems such as historical buildings, cafes and shops.. lots of shops..
Growing up in a small town in Germany, I was always the quiet introverted kid. I belief observing others rather then being the life of the party gave me the talent to see moments in a different way. In my mid 20’s I decided I needed a change, I moved to the other side of the planet to follow my dreams, be who ever I wanted to be, without anyone judging me for what I do with my life. When starting my photography business, I didn’t know who I was as a photographer or what I wanted to be. I followed the crowd and did what I thought was the professional ‘thing’ to do. I made lots of mistakes but I kept persisting to find my way. When I looked at my own girls photos, I learned I didn’t feel connected to my work. It was pretty with no soul. I realised I had to change and my business and be true to myself. I followed my heart and my business took its turn. After rebranding White Salt was born. If I had to describe myself, I would say, I am the introverted emotional storyteller. I love light, emotions and connections. Raw and real family moments are what makes my heart sing.
